STATE OF MICHIGAN SEAL

As a native Michigander, I reimagined the State Seal of Michigan with the goal of honoring its history while improving clarity and usability. The redesign simplifies complex detailing and reduces color variation, creating a system that reproduces more effectively across flags, apparel, and official documents. Blues reflect the Great Lakes, while green grounds the mark in Michigan’s forests, parks, and natural landscape. Latin phrases were translated into plain English to make the symbolism more accessible and immediately meaningful. The result is a cleaner, more contemporary seal that preserves heritage while strengthening legibility and versatility.
